Seeking a new Dpeartment Treasurer

Per Department Orders #3, Brother Brian Shumway will be stepping down as Department Treasurer on July 31, 2009, to accept a new career out of state. Congratulations to Brother Brian and his family!

If any capable Brothers are interested in fill the position of treasurer, please contact Commander Charles Worley at worleyc@myrural.com as soon as possible.

2009 Department Encampment

Registration information, etc, has been posted about the 2009 Department Encampment.

Data from the GAR is now online!

The Department of Michigan is proud to announce that the first "installment" of GAR records from Michigan are now online and searchable.

This ongoing project currently includes the histories and rosters of 90 GAR Posts numbered 1 through 75 (some numbers were duplicated over time). The membership rosters currently has almost 19000 entries.

Your photos are wanted!

As mentioned above, we now have an online photo album! If you have any pictures of camp or department events that you would like posted on the website, please send them to the webmaster at webmaster@suvcwmi.org Please include a brief description of the event.

We are also looking for any historical photos of the Grand Army of the Republic, or the Sons of Union Veterans in Michigan.
