Wilder Post #55Ottawa Lake, Monroe County, Michigan Organized 1889 There is no indication which Wilder this Post was named to honor. The Post was Mustered with 16, Charter Members. The first Post Commander was J. E. Albring who served in Company D, 18th Michigan Infantry from September 1, 1861 to June 18, 1865. The Post met at the Dewey & Co. Hall on Brown and Railroad Streets. The last Post Commander was I. E. Barker who served in Company D, 55th Ohio Infantry , enlisting on December 1, 1861. The last Report was filed December 31, 1894 showing eleven Members. The Post was disbanded in 1894.
